“Integrating the 21st century skills into foreign languages teaching curricular and materials design” at the UzSWLU.

On 7 March 2020, UzSPIC and the University of Tsukuba held an international online conference “Integrating the 21st-century skills into foreign languages teaching curricular and materials design” at the Uzbek State World Languages University.

The Vice-Rector of International Cooperation at UzSWLU Abidjanov A.S. gave opening remarks. He was followed by a representative from the Embassy of Japan in the Republic of Uzbekistan, who spoke optimistically about the relations between the two countries progressing in the spirit of friendship, strategic partnership, and cooperation.

 

 

 

 

 

 

He finished his speech by thanking the hosts and expressing hope that such conferences will be held more. Professor Ono Masaki from the University of Tsukuba then told about JSPS’s plan to train Japanese language teachers who can respond to social demands and collaborate with UzSWLU, TSIOS, University of Cairo and other international universities to undertake scientific research. Finally, Associate Professor of Toyo University, Hirahata Nami, discussed the university’s intention to attract more Japanese language teachers for preparing well-trained cadres.
