On May 17, 2022, the closing ceremony of the competition “Do You Know Algeria?” was held at the Uzbekistan State University of World Languages under the leadership of the rector of the university, U. Azizov, and H.E. Ambassador of Algeria to Uzbekistan Nasser Boucherit.
The contest was held as part of the celebration in Uzbekistan of the 60th anniversary of Algerian independence and the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Algeria and Uzbekistan.
This dual celebration was marked by a rich program, in particular, the screening of a short documentary film about Algeria, the presentation by the Ambassador of Algeria of his book “The bitter experience of one child of Algeria”.
In a book published in Uzbekistan in French and Uzbek, a child talks about the Algerian liberation war. On this occasion, H.E. Mr. Ambassador donated 30 copies of his book to the university library.
The reading of poems and songs performed by university students enlivened the program.
The ceremony of awarding prizes to the winners of the Competition was held in an atmosphere of joy and fun.
Before the start of the ceremony, His Excellency Nasser Boucherit, and Mr. Ulugbek Azizov opened the photo exhibition “Ancient and modern architecture of Algeria”, organized in the hall of the university. This allowed visitors to get an idea of the architectural heritage of Algeria through the ages.
